The College of Science was established in December 2002 when the University of the Philippines Baguio became the 7th constituent university of the UP System. Evolved from the merger of the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Division, the College continues to take the lead in upgrading Science and Mathematics education and research in Northern Luzon.

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the College of Science, University of the Philippines Baguio, offers quality instruction, research, and extension services in mathematics, computer science, and related fields. It is committed to producing graduates with strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills, and to advancing knowledge through research that addresses regional and national needs.

South East Asian Mathematical Society

Founded in 1972, the South East Asian Mathematical Society (SEAMS) is composed of members of mathematical societies in Southeast Asia. SEAMS seeks to promote the advancement of mathematics and facilitate exchange and collaboration between mathematicians in the Southeast Asian region, and Asia in general.

Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées

The Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA) is a nonprofit organization that promotes research in Mathematics in developing countries. Located in Nice, it is a UNESCO Category 2 center and is part of the Laboratoire d’Excellence CARMIN (Centres d’Accueil et de Rencontres Mathématiques Internationales). It benefits from the financial support of Germany, France, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland. CIMPA co-organizes and sponsors numerous activities in developing countries including this SEAMS School.

University of the Philippines Office of International Linkages

The University of the Philippines Office of International Linkages (UP-OIL) is a unit under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs of the UP System, that promotes international academic and research collaboration with partner universities through student and faculty exchange, joint research, network participation, sharing of educational resources, and other international academic and research activities.

International Mathematical Union—Commission for Developing Countries

The Commission for Developing Countries (CDC) of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) provides partial support to this SEAMS School through its Conference Support Program. The CDC has the mandate to manage all IMU initiatives in support of mathematics in the developing world with the following missions: to manage, strengthen, and promote the programs of the IMU in developing and economically disadvantaged countries; to search for funding to support the corresponding activities; and to establish institutional partnerships with scientific organizations with common goals.

Mathematical Society of the Philippines

Founded in 1973, the Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) is a non-stock, non-profit professional organization of mathematics researchers and educators in the Philippines that is recognized by the International Mathematical Union. The society publishes the journal Matimyás Matematika and runs an annual convention, both geared towards the development of mathematics research and mathematics education in the Philippines, especially at the tertiary level.

Mathematical Society of the Philippines – CAR, Regions 1 and 2 Chapter

The Mathematical Society of the Philippines – CAR, Regions 1 and 2 Chapter (MSP CAR 1-2) is a regional division of the national Mathematical Society of the Philippines. The chapter serves the Ilocos Region (I), Cagayan Valley (II), and the Cordillera Administrative Region, promoting mathematics education and research in these areas.
